My name is Leann Hopkins and this is my third year teaching art at Van Wert Elementary. This year, students will focus on Art History and the Modern Art Era. Our art projects will emulate artistic styles from this time. My goal is for students to recognize numerous iconic artists and their works by the end of the school year.
I began teaching art in 1990 after graduating from Kennesaw State College with a Bachelors of Science in Art Education. I have worked on graduate studies through out the years and have taught public, private and homeschool students. My favorite areas in art are painting and pottery. I live in Villa Rica with my husband, David. We have three daughters and one son, all in college. Our oldest daughter is married. I enjoy spending time with my family, working on house projects, painting and taking care of our rescue mutts.
"Children at different stages of artistic development should be motivated by appropriate media and themes and the curriculum guided mainly by deveopmental considerations."
