Hello and welcome to my CTAE Healthcare online classroom. My name is Shannon Cofield, I bring more than 20 years of combined experience in the medical and dental fields with me to the classroom. After working in a busy pediatric dental office for more than nine years and enduring what seemed at the time a tragic event, I realigned my life and decided to take a leap of faith.
I am a National Board and Georgia State Certified Dental Hygienist (RDH). I earned my degree from Floyd College, aka Georgia Highlands College. Since graduating from Floyd College, I have played an active role in my profession and community.
During my spare time, I can most often be found with my husband of 20+ years and our two precious children. I met my groom through our shared interest in horses, and today we enjoy cheering our children on in horseshow arenas throughout the region. We also spend quality time camping, boating, and participating in a variety of other outdoor activities; we are definitely not an idle family.
I plan to share my experiences in my classroom by creating an effective learning environment and providing fun hands-on learning opportunities. I look forward to collaborating with other staff members, students, parents, and the Polk County community.
