My name is Sue Wray, and I am a Business Teacher and Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Polk County College and Career Academy. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from West Georgia College in August of 2000 and began my teaching career at Cedartown High School. I also completed the course work to add the Work Based Learning Endorsement to my teaching certificate in 2009.
I worked in business and industry for many years, but 18 years ago I was blessed to fulfill my dream of becoming a Business Teacher. Now I get to enjoy the best of both worlds—teaching business classes to teenagers, while watching them mature as they learn to apply their skills on the job!
My husband, Tommy and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year. I am the mother of three precious daughters and grandmother to six precious grandchildren. I love spending time with all my family. I enjoy teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir at Pine Bower Baptist Church.
Life is about building relationships, so I try hard to get to know my students and let them know I respect them and care for them. I believe students are more likely to meet their full potential, if they know their teacher truly cares. I have always enjoyed being a facilitator and monitor in my computer classes, which allows me to give more one-on-one instruction as well as allowing my students to become independent learners.
