I look forward to my nineteenth year of teaching Visual Arts to students in Polk School District. I have a Master’s degree in Art Education from the University of West Georgia, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education from Shorter University. I also have my Education Specialist Degree in Leadership from Berry College. As a teacher and artist I encourage my students to push themselves to do their best every day. I strive to instill in my students a lifelong appreciation for the Visual Arts. I am married with 2 children and enjoy creating sculptures, and paintings. I am excited to be working with all the students at Youngs Grove Elementary School this year.
Philosophy of Education:
I have the responsibility to promote a vision of excellence for all students. A great educational leader values and continues to gain experiences leading by example. To ensure the continued success of the school we must build community relationships as well as relationships with school stakeholders. This facilitates opportunities for educational growth and support within the school and in the community. An effective leader serves the goals of their educational institution continually striving to make academic opportunities for all. My commitment to good communication, and high expectations for student’s academic performance are the keys to school growth.
