I am Dawn Brown. I have been teaching for 18 years. I have taught multiple subjects during my time here at RHS. I have taught in both inclusion and resource settings.I currently will be teaching English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art,  and Social Skills. I love teaching, it is the best job I have had and I hope to be able to continue for many more years to come. I enjoy working with students and watching them learn and grow.( I am also the Academic Team advisor - this is where students from different schools compete against each other, answering a series of questions on a variety of information.)

My educational background is that I have Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Sociology. I went back and got my add-on in Specila Education. I received my Masters in Special Education in May 2016.

My Educational philosphy is I believe each and every child has thepotential to bring something unique and special to the world. I will help childre to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I will assist childre in discovering who they are , so they can express their own opinion, and nuture their own ideas. I have a vision of a world where people learn to respect, except and embrace the differences between us, as the core of what makes life so fascinating.

My basic classroom rules are as follows:

* keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself

* use language in the classroom that is not profane or offensive to others

* follow directions given by faculty or staff immediately

* sit in your seat unless you have permission to leave it

* raise your hand and wait for permission to speak

( Students are also expected to follow all the rules and expectations of Polk School District.)

My email contact is dbrown@polk.k12.ga.us. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I will do my best to get back with you as soon as I can.
