It is my pleasure to serve as the 5th grade English Language Arts teacher here at Northside Elementary. I am a graduate of the class of 2008 of Valdosta State University where I received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. Also, I have received my masters degree in Special Education from Kaplan University class of 2010. I have recently earned my specialist degree from Walden University class of 2013. Last but not least, I am a native of Cedartown, GA and alumni of Cedartown High School Class of 2003.
It is my belief that all students matter and that they are capable of learning in various styles. I am a believer that firm yet effective relationships between teachers and students can help to foster a postive learning envionment. In order for me to have an impact on the lives of my students, it is important for me to ensure that my students know that they are safe, loved, important, and understood. In doing so, I have been able to create positive yet rigorus learning envrionments where my students are challenged to go to their learning limits and beyond. It is my belief to hold students to high expectations while continuously encouraging them to be their best.
I look forward to working with you all. Please feel free to contact me regarding any matter and it will be addressed as necessary! So, cheers to a new year, new learning, new experiences, and great accomplishments. Together, your child will be a STAR in 5th grade!
