Hello and welcome to my online classroom!
My name is Ms. Ryan McLendon. I am the Directed Studies teacher at Northside Elementary School. This is my 9th year teaching and I'm very excited to be at Northside! I taught at Eastside Elementary in Rockmart for the first 7 years of my career. I'm very excited to be a Bulldog again! I have a teaching assistant who works with me, Kristi Wood, who is just as excited to be working with such great kiddos this year.
I have a precious 8 year old daughter named Lila. She is in Second Grade here at Northside. I also have a precious 6 year old son named Cooper. He is in Kindergarten, also at Northside. Our family also includes Pixie, our Morkie and Si, our German Shepherd! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going to Church, shopping, taking trips to the beach, watching the Georgia Bulldogs, and making anything crafty that I find on Pinterest!
Miss Wood graduated from West Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2016. She hopes to eventually move into a classroom of her own! She enjoys making crafty things, being outside, and going to the beach.
My educational background includes a B.S. in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from The University of West Georgia and a M.S. in Education with a concentration in Elementary Reading from Nova Southeastern University. I plan to pursue my Specialist Degree in the near future. I want all of my students to understand the value of education and love it like I do, therefore I feel that it is very important that I lead by example with my own level of education.
We have fun in our class, you'll learn all of the content you're supposed to, and hopefully you'll also learn to be confident, well-rounded individuals and productive citizens through the experiences we will have as students, friends, and even family.
Miss Wood and I can't wait to get to know and teach each of you. Being your teachers is one of the greatest responsibilities we have and watching you grow as students and people is such a joy. Again, welcome to our class.
