My name is Lauren Ross. I am from Cave Spring, GA and graduated from Coosa High School in 2004. I attended the University of West Georgia and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I earned my Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia in 2009 and my Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College in 2012. I also have my Reading Endorsement for Early Childhood Education and I am certified in Middle Grades Math. I began my teaching career at Villa Rica Elementary in 2008 as a kindergarten teacher. I taught kindergarten and second grade at Villa Rica Elementary before I moved to Youngs Grove Elementary in December 2012. While at Youngs Grove, I taught third grade, fourth grade, and special ed. This is my third year at Cherokee Elementary and I teach 5th grade math . I currently live in Cedartown and I have a six-year old daughter, Ava, that is in 1st grade at Cherokee.
It is my belief that each child I teach should feel welcomed, safe, and loved in my classroom. I strive every day to make my students excited about their education. I want my students to love school and I will work hard to instill in them the knowledge that I believe in them and hold high expectations for all of my students and the great things they can accomplish.
