Hello, my name is Teresa Huckaby. I have been an exceptional education teacher for Polk School District for 21 years. Over the years I have been involved in lots of changes in this area. I am currently an inclusion teacher for Science, Social Studies and Math.
Our theme for this year is "Dream": Determined, Responsible, Engaged, Accountable, Motivated. We are continuing to create blended learning classrooms that include traditional and 21st century classroom tools.
In my leisure time you will mostly find me outdoors. I spend part of my summers riding in a weeklong bicycle event across one of our beautiful United States.
I have most recently rode across Minnesota, the Katy Trail in Missouri, The Swamp Rabbit Trail in South Carolina, and The New River Trail in Virginia. My hobbies include, hiking, gardening, native plant identification and canoeing.
My Educational Philosophy is that every child has the potential to learn and contribute to the learning environment. Teaching is a lifelong process of learning; from new philosophies, strategies, learning from parents and from the community. My role as a teacher is to assist students with developing the tools they need to cultivate their own desires for learning and becoming productive adults.
