My name is Kim Curtis and I am one of two school psychologists in Polk County. This is my thirteenth year as a school psychologist in the district. I am based at the Julia Dean Center for Exceptional Students, but I try to spend as much time as possible out in the schools. This year I will primarily be serving students who attend Northside Elementary, Westside Elementary, Van Wert Elementary, and Cedartown Middle School. Like the other psychologist, Maggie Buchanan, I also fill in or help out as needed at other schools as needed, so you may run into one of us anywhere!
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Auburn University then returned to Auburn a few years later to earn both my Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in School Psychology. My goal is to use my education and experience to help students, parents, and teachers understand and solve problems in many different areas related to learning and behavior. My favorite part of being a school psychologist is when I get to work directly with the great kids we have here in Polk County!
