Hi! Welcome to my classroom! I am beginning my 25th year of teaching with 15 of those years at Westside! I graduated with honors in 1985 from Cedartown High School. I am a 1988 graduate of Shorter University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master's Degree in 1992 from Jacksonville State University and my Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2010. I have been married to Tony Lundy for 28 years and we have one daughter, Anna (19). Tony teaches at CHS in the Social Studies Department. He is also the Varsity Tennis Coach at CHS. Anna is a Sophomore at Shorter University majoring in Communications with a minor in Dance. I am SO excited to be teaching 4th grade Science and Language Arts! This is such a fun age group! They really keep me young! I am looking forward to a FABULOUS school year!!
MY TEACHING PHILOSPHY
"I have embraced the same core teaching philosophy for the last 24 years. I truly believe that if a child feels loved, secure, and accepted he/she will thrive academically and emotionally. Students need to feel an "ownership" in their education. We must instill in them a love of learning so that each child will become a life-long learner! Lastly, I feel very strongly that each child should feel a sense of accomplishment and achievement in my classroom!
