Hello! Welcome to my website. I am a kindergarten teacher at Westside Elementary. I taught kindergarten for 15 years and thought I wanted to do something different, so I decided to teach ESOL last year. I really missed teaching kindergarten, and I am so excited to be able to go back to teaching kindergarten this year. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Shorter College, a master's degree in Leadership from Jacksonville State University, and a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. I am married to Phillip Jackson. He works as an Automotive Technician at Robinson's Muffler Service. I have 2 daughters: Lily (13) and Layla (8). I have been teaching for 16 years at Westside Elementary. I am so excited about teaching your child this year! If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
Educational Philosophy: My values in education lie within each and every child that I teach. I feel that every child has the capability to learn and that it is my job to help these children discover the roads that will lead them to success. I believe that through hard work and cooperation between teachers, parents, and administrators, every child can be given the skills that they need in order to live a full and productive life. I believe that a strong foundation must be laid in the lower grades before a child has what they need to move forward, and it is my job to see to it that every child leaving my classroom has a strong start.
