OUR CLASSROOM

Welcome to our classroom! I am Lynn Duck and this is my 20th year teaching in Polk County. This year we will be discovering, analyzing, creating, and exploring the Georgia Standards as they appear on the Georgia Department of Education website. I am excited to work alongside you and your child as we learn together about the many pieces that come together to create our world through Social Studies.  As the school year progresses, you will see that we are very passionate about learning and will explore our content through various methods. Students will be asked to become active participants in both group and individual projects as well as become digital learners and leaders.  My door is always open. I am just a phone call or email away. If there is a question, concern, or information I need to know, please feel free to contact me.

Educational Philosophy :

People are lifelong learners and their experiences as early learners are critical.  Although grades are important, I feel process and perception are just as important. Not every student learns the same as another, and some students will be more enthused over different lessons or topics than others.  Part of education is learning and trying new things. Sometimes taking the first step of getting involved in learning is the hardest part, but when you do you realize that you can do it. My door is always open. I am just a phone call or email away. If there is something I need to know, please feel free to contact me.
