If you are new to me, then know that I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. If we have had a year together, I am so pleased to have your student in my classroom again. We will continue to have a great time and learn so much more!
I will share a bit about myself. I am originally from the Rome area, but moved to Meansville, Georgia while I was in grade school. I graduated with my four year degree from Gordon State College in Barnesville, Georgia. While down there, I taught Kindergarten in Henry County, and self-contained at the middle school level in Griffin-Spalding County. I have taught at Westside for one year.
This will be my fifth year teaching, four of which will be self-contained special education. I love what I do and it has been my passion in life since I graduated college. I am finished with my Master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders and adapted curriculum from Bowling Green State University. I do plan to continue on until I obtain a doctorate this coming spring semester.
I look forward to working with each and every one of your children! I love that my position allows for me to watch them grow and develop over the years together. In my classroom, I make the smallest hurdle conquered seemed mountainous! I will push myself to be the best for your child and reach them at their level.
I want you to feel comfortable with me. I thrive on open communication! So, feel free to contact me anytime your concerns or questions come to mind. I do ask that contacts be kept between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm, realizing that I am not always able to answer the phone. I do have the ability to read/respond to a text message much quicker. I look forward to getting to know each of you!
