Writer's Workshop

ELACC2W3: Write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.

ELACC2W5: With guidance and support from adults and peers, focus on a topic and strengthen writing as needed by revising and editing.

This unit we will write a NARRATIVE using different topics. A narrative tells a story. It has a beginning, middle, and end; is in order with transition words (first, then, finally); and has characters and a setting. I will use the following rubric to give feedback to students on their published narratives. I am not taking a grade on students' writing at this point.

I keep a writing portfolio for each student. If you would like for me to send a copy of your child's portfolio home, please let me know.
