Activity: Swamp Ball
Purpose for Activity: Students will use motor skills such as dodging, evading, running, throwing, and catching. Students will use cooperation and teamwork to successfully complete each game of Swamp Ball.
Swamp Ball is a team game based on the same rules/procedures as your typical game of Dodgeball. Two teams on each end of the court with soft dodgeballs in a line on the halfcourt line. The objective is to get as many opposing team members into your own team's "Swamp". While in the swamp the opposing teammates can free one of their teammates by throwing them a ball and them catching it. When a team member who is in the swamp catches a ball they can then re-enter the game. Team's must work together to get their own team mates out of the swamp to keep the game going.
