Standard 3-students will demonstrate the ability to access valid information and products and services to enhance health.

Standard 4-demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance health.

Standard 8- demonstrate the ability to advocate for personal, family, and community health.

 

E.Q.: what are the health risks of drug misuse and substance abuse?

 

 


Warm up: T.P.S.  -  2 min. students will individually think about the main ideas of lesson 1 health risks of drug use. 2 min. Once they have thought about the main ideas students will pair and discuss. 3 min. Groups will share their thoughts on main ideas. 

 

Procedure:  10 min. Students will do guided reading of lesson 1. Filling out the work sheet as they go. 5 min. Students will use these notes to take socrative quiz. 15 min. Students will be grouped according to quiz score. Low students will pair up and create a keynote using the guided reading outline as a guide. High students will take part in a focus group research activity. 

 

 


Summary activity. Class discussion of lesson 1 main ideas
