Shared reading Focus of the Week

These are the standards we are working on this week!

RL1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
RL2 Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson.
RL3 Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.
RL7 Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events.
RL9 Compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in stories.
RF4 Read on-level text with purpose and understanding. Read orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression on successive readings.
L4 Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple meaning words and phrases.
L5 Demonstrate understanding of word relationships.  Sort words into categories, Define words by category and by one or more key attributes

 

 

 

 

These videos showcases my students participating in shared reading. They have listened to the story several times and have read it with a teacher and partners. The clip shows the students working together to fill in a Story Map to use as a tool in re-telling the story.
