Click the above link for a YouTube video by Harry Kindergarten. I use this video in my classroom to help introduce classroom rules and expectations.
Each student has a behavior clip on the Mons-terrific behavior chart in the classroom. Each student will start on green everyday. The student will be rewarded for good behavior by moving his/her clip up the chart. Once they reach the top, Superstar, they get a prize from the treasure box.
Of course, kindergarten is a learning year academically & socially. Students will move their clips down the behavior chart when he/she is not following the classroom rules.
yellow = 5 minutes loss of recess
orange = 10 minutes loss of recess
red = Parent Contact
The great thing about this chart is that students can correct behavior and be rewarded by moving their behavior clip back up on the chart.
Students MUST be on green to be allowed to get ice cream. If he/she is not on green a snack other than ice cream will be provided.
