Parachutes!

Week 2

This week we will be introducing parachute activities to learn the fundamental motor skills used in daily activities. Students will learn and perform fine motor skills (hands/wrists) movements by making small waves with the parachutes. Students will advance to using gross motor skills (walking/running/jumping) movements by walking with the parachutes as a team and/or trading parachutes.

 

Standards used:

Standard 1: Demonstrates competency in motor skills and patterns needed to perform a variety of activities.

Standard 2: Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

Standard 5: Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity.
