ELAGSE9-10RL1: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

ELAGSE9-10RL2: Determine a theme and/or central idea of text and analyze in detail its development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the text.

Teaching Strategies: 

  1. Students will complete Elements of Plot Graphic Organizer and use text book to define literary terms on pages 4 - 5 
  2. Students will use textbook pg 17 vocabulary terms. For each term student will use ipads to determine etymology of the word. For each term students will identify the prefix and rootword. After identifying prefix and root word, students will define each prefix and define each rootword.
  3. Work not completed in class should be completed at home. Tell students they will be tested on plot terms and vocabulary terms.
