Third grade students are required to answer constructed response questions after reading a literary or informational text according to the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Students will be asked to support their writing using evidence from the text.
We use the RACE writing strategy in third grade to answer constructed response questions. Please watch this short video to learn more about the RACE strategy.
The acronym, RACE, stands for each part needed to answer a constructed response writing prompt.
R - restate the question
A - answer all parts of the question
C - cite evidence
