XX. Soccer

  1. Teams will play a total of 11 games during the season (60% of high school games).

  2. Seven of these games will be scheduled against other FCAA teams with games scheduled per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The remaining 4 games of the season will be scheduled at the coach’s discretion.

  3. Only the record of the FCAA will be counted for seating and tie-breaker.

  4. The season will start the first school day following the conclusion of winter sports.  Schools will play 1-2 games per week for an average season of 5-6 weeks, pending weather.  Tournaments will be set so all make-up games will be completed prior to the tournament date.  If games can not be made up, the Executive Director will look at the standings, who was able to complete the make-up games, and decide the standings if needed.

Seeding/ Tie Breakers for the playoffs will be based on the following criteria…

1) Number of FCAA games won

2) Head to head versus team that is tied ( If 3 way, go to 3)

3) Head to head against #1,

4) Head to head against #2, and so on through #7

5) Coin Flip

     4.  All games will have a minimum of 2 officials per game.

     5.  The top six teams will advance to the post-season tournament.  The higher seeded     team will host the quarter-finals, semi-finals and championship rounds.  Ex.  Seed 1 will host seed 4 and seed 2 will host seed 3.  After the conclusion of the semifinals the higher seed of the two will host the championship game.

All soccer fields must be conducive to having regular and tournament games played on that field.  Safety of all players must be a priority when considering this.  If a field is in question, this should be made known to the executive director prior to the day of the scheduled game.  The director will make the decision as to whether the field is appropriate for play.  The Executive Director will determine the location of semi-finals and championship rounds if the field is determined to be unfit for play.

The first round will be:

Game 1:  6th place team playing 3rd place team

Game 2:  5th place team playing 4th place team

The second round (semi-finals) will be:

Game 3:  1st place will play the lowest seed team remaining from games 1 and 2

Game 4:  2nd place will play the other winner from games 1 and 2

Championship (finals):

Game 5:  winners of games 3 and 4
