XIII. Track and Field
Track meets will consist of the following events, run in the following order;
Girls 100 meter hurdles
Boys 110 meter hurdles
Girls 1600 meters
Boys 1600 meters
Girls high jump, boys high jump to follow
Girls shot put, boys to follow
Boys high jump, girls to follow
In the succeeding running events the girl’s event will precede the boys in the following order:
Each school may have 2 participants in the 100, 200, 400 meters and two relay teams in both relays. Each school may have 3 participants in field events, and unlimited participants in the 800 and 1600.
In the Area Meet, schools may have no more than two participants in any event, and two relay teams.
Athletes are allowed to wear spikes where appropriate. Spikes should not exceed 1/8” in length.
Scoring for regular season meets will be governed by National Federation Rules.
Scoring for the Area Meet will be as follows:
Individual events: 10-8-6-4-2-1; Relays: 10-8-6-5-4-2-1
Each participant may participate in a maximum of four events. The events shall consist of two (2) individual running events and any combination of two (2) relays and field events.
Implements in the shot put will be 6lbs. for girls, 8lbs. for boys.
No jewelry, excluding wrist watches, may be worn during track and field events
