I had taught sixth, seventh, and eight grade students in the middle school before coming to Northside in 2001. I knew exactly what skills my students needed to understandand and be able to do in elementary school in order to be successful in middle school. I knew that I wanted to teach them how to be successful from elementary school throughout high school and even college .I finished two more degrees to help me prepare them for challenging and real world math skills. As technology changed the world and became very important, the children and I learned together.
I believe that all children can learn and be successful. My sole purpose is to help then graduate with a high school diploma and go out into the workforce with the academic skills, knowledge, technology, and values that can make a difference in this world. I want them to have the opportunity to do something they love. I want to inspire them to love Math so that will always be of great value to them since it will be used daily in their lives.
I want them to feel safe, secure, respected, and loved in my classroom. I want them to be able to express ideas, grow, and be confident in themselves which are things that are priceless as they grow. I expect for all children to be exposed to ideas and concepts that will take them from my classroom out into the real world where they can attain success regardless of what they choose as a career or job.
