Kindergarten students will explore different ways that objects can move.  They can move quickly or slowly, in a straight or jagged line, backward or forward,  downward or upward, or in circles. Students will also understand by using a force, push or pull, that they can make an object move. Students will explore magnetic forces by using magnets. 

 

SKP2. Students will investigate different types of motion.

a. Sort objects into categories according to their motion. (straight, zigzag, round and round, back and forth, fast and slow, and motionless)

b. Push, pull, and roll common objects and describe their motions

1. How do objects move?

2. How can  you make an object move?

3. How can you change an object's direction?
