This year, third grade will use a clip system in conjunction with a mark (demerit) system. Our classroom rules are as follows:
- Do the right thing.
- Accept responsibility.
- Work together.
- Give 100% everyday.
- Show pride and respect.
Each student will have a clothespin with his or her name on it. Each student will begin on the top of the stick (purple). If a student chooses to break a rule, his or her clip will be moved down the stick. Each color has its own consequence.
Purple- Perfect Purple
Green- Still Good Green- Verbal Warning
Yellow- Yikes Yellow- The student will receive a mark and lose
two points from their weekly behavior grade.
Orange- Oh No Orange- The student will receive another mark on his or her behavior chart, lose another two points from his or her weekly behavior chart, and will stay in at recess.
Red- Rethink Your Day Red-The student will receive a third mark on his or her behavior chart, lose another two points from the weekly behavior grade, and receive a ABE Classroom referral. A parent phone call will also be made.
Each poor choice after red will earn another mark on the behavior chart and the loss of another two points from their weekly behavior grade.
The third Red during a quarter will result in an Office Abe referral.
Each student will return to purple every day after recess. Behavior charts will run from Friday to Thursday. The student will bring their behavior chart home in Thursday Papers. Parents are asked to sign it and return it on Friday.
