Safety Land This is a cross between an interactive Flash game and a quiz, where the aim is to rid Safety Land of an evil character sending horrible messages to people. This is done by selecting a building to flush the evil character from and then answering a dual-choice question on Internet safety.
The Webonauts Internet Academy is new world created by PBS, where kids take on the role of the Webnonaut and complete a series of missions. There’s a cast of characters that includes the Bamdudes, who are the best cookie makers in the galaxy, and a mysterious enemy called the Great Static who is set on stealing the Bamdude’s secret recipe. While entertaining kids, it is designed to teach kids about online privacy, how to deal with bullying and how to distinguish credible sources online.
NetSmartzKids is designed to introduce children to basic Internet safety concepts through interactions with animated characters—Clicky, a yellow robot, and the sister-and-brother team, Nettie and Webster. Children learn the importance of being safer on- and offline from the repetition of safety messaging in Clicky’s songs. The ultimate goal of NetSmartzKids is to teach children to identify online dangers and practice safer behaviors.
NSTeens is designed to teach students about the importance of internet safety through interactions with animated characters. Stop the character from meeting a strangers, posting personal information and how to deal with cyberbullies.
