Work Ethics

Work Ethics

Work ethic is a value based on hard work and diligence. It is also a belief in the moral benefit of work and its ability to enhance character.

A Whole Brain Teacher

Work Ethics
Expectations in the Classroom

It is important to identify, evaluate, and encourage good work ethics amongst our students in order for them to make a successful transition into high school as well as to a secondary institution and the work environment.  Students will be assessed daily on work ethics.  Students will be evaluated on the following soft skills: attendance, attitude, communication, time management, problem solving, cooperation, self-confidence, accepting constructive criticism, flexibility, participation, and organization.

  • All students start with a 100 test grade.
  • Points will be deducted for every infraction.
  • Students will create a file with this information including the standards, essential questions, table and directions.
  • Students will have their work ethics file open and minimized everyday during class.
  • If an infraction occurs in class, the student will record their point deduction on their file. Students will keep up with their Work Ethics grade.
  • The teacher will record the Work Ethics grade in PowerSchool.
  • The amount of points deducted depends on the severity of the incident involved. (Up to the discretion of the teacher)

The following is our Work Ethics table and grading scale.
