                                      My Teaching Philosophy

I love learning about my students, and they love sharing. They also love hearing about my life, so I'm going to share some info. about me for all my students out there reading this.

My mother is from Rockmart. She was born and raised here just like many of you. My dad is from Mexico. He moved to Cedartown back in the 70's. I went to school in this county when I was a child just like you. I love living and working in a small town. Below are some photos of me when I was in school.

One of the first questions most of my students want to know is what happened to my neck and why do I have that many stitches. Normally, this question is asked every year from at least half my class if I don't talk about it to the whole class first. A picture is worth a thousand words. I spent the first several months of my life in a hospital.

So other than my scars, the most repeated question I get is if I play when I get home.
Truth is, I play a lot with my niece and cats. I also love to take pictures and spend time outdoors.

In addition to teaching, I love photography, painting, and drawing. When I am able I like to showcase my photos or paintings at the Rockmart Art Gallery. Here are a few of my items that have been showcased there. CLICK HERE to learn more about RCAC and the Rockmart Art Gallery.
