Q & A about Eastside Elementary

What time does school start?

Class begins at 7:50 am each day. Students must be in their homeroom class before 8 am. Students arriving to class after 8 am will have to be signed in at the office by a parent and will be counted tardy.

Can I eat lunch with my child?

Please check your child's homeroom teacher's website for their lunch time.

When you arrive at school, please sign in at the front office to receive a visitor's badge.

The office will direct you where to go.

Please do not bring outside food from restaurants in to enjoy with your student.

You may eat with your child at a special table that is reserved in the lunchroom or you may sign them out for lunch to eat with them on the picnic tables outside.  You must sign them back in after lunch.

Your child can not ask other children to join them on your lunch date.

Can I sign my child out at the end of the day?

As you can imagine, dismissal time is very busy in the office. Due to this reason, we DO NOT allow sign outs in the office from 2:45-3:30.

    or

Can I change the way my chilld goes home?

A parent may change the way their child is going home if a note is sent to school, an email to the teacher or administration, or a fax (770-684-1335) is sent to the office.  Changes of transportation cannot be made over the phone.  This is for the safety of your child.  If your child is going to go home with a friend, they may not ride home on the bus with that friend.  They may go to car riders with the student they are going home with, but both students must bring a note to school from their parents.
