The Early Intervention Program (EIP)
This Early Intervention Program is one of Georgia’s educational initiatives to improve student learning. The primary goal of this program is to offer immediate and direct assistance to help students achieve academic success at their grade level. While in this program, students will receive extra direct instruction in reading and/or math.
It's important for us to remember children start school at a designated chronological age, but differ greatly in their intellectual development and experience base. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.
In my 4th and 5th grade classes, we work on Reading and Language Arts skills. The students and I dig into a variety of skills that are taught in their classrooms. My classroom is an extension of their regular homeroom teachers' reading and language programs. The second grade and third teachers are a phenominal group of teachers to work with! I work in the classrooms with Ms. Strickland, Ms. Allred and Ms. Dave.
I am blessed to be a part of the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teams and a member of the Northside Family !
