Martin Luther King Jr.
The students will be learning about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his contributions to the Civil Rights Movement.
The students will read about and describe the lives of historical figures in Georgia history. During our study the students will identify the contributions made by Martin Luther King, Jr. and discuss civil rights.
The students will describe how his everyday life is similar to and different from everyday life in the present (food, clothing, homes, transportation, communication, recreation, rights, and freedoms).
The students will give examples of how he the study of historical figures under demonstrates the positive citizenship traits of honesty, dependability, liberty, trustworthiness, honor, civility, good sportsmanship, patience, and compassion.
