 Standard 7: Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health enhancing and avoid or                reduce risks

Standard 8- demonstrate the ability to advocate for personal, family, and community health.
 

 

E.Q.: How can immediately responding to a situation with an appropriate first-aid treatment mean the difference between life and death?

 

Warm up: 3 min- imagine your neighborhood has been hit by a tornado and you are not injured.
                            Think about how you would react to the situation.
                3 min- pair with partner and discuss
                3 min- discuss with class

 

 


Procedure:  10 min- near pod presentation over providing first aid.
                    15 min- students will be put in groups based on their understanding of the various           first aid situations. Groups will be given a scenario based on a certain emergency situation. The groups will write down the steps they would take to provide first aid. 
                    15 min- each group will present their procedures to the rest of the class.

Warm up: go to socrative room wigley 502 click on first aid quiz. Take quiz
                 Students will be grouped hi to low using the socrative quiz scores.

 

 

Procedure:  10 min- near pod presentation over responding to common emergencies.
                    15 min- students will be grouped hi to low based on socrative scores.. Groups will be given a scenario based on a certain common emergency situation. The groups will write down the steps they would take to provide first aid. 
                    15 min- each group will present their procedures to the rest of the class.

Procedure:  20 min. Students will be paired with someone based on socrative quiz score (hi-low). Pairs will complete ch. 27 study guide. 
                    20 min. Walk up top in gym.
