- Week of Oct. 16
We will be working on summarizing and themes this week. Studwnts will have homework on Thursday. Your child can practice at home on study island. If you would like extra practice to be printed and sent home please email me.
- Week of Oct. 9th
We will be testing over Walk Two Moons. We will continue reviewing informative writing this week. We are looking closely at writing a biography for our assessment essay. We will not have homework or a test this week. Have a great fall break!
- Week of Oct. 2
We will be reading chapters 15-19 in our novel Walk Two Moons. We will be focusing on how to quote accurately when explaining what the text says. We will also be working on drawing inferences. Your child can practice these skills on Study Island. It has been assigned to them under reading. There will be no homework or test this week. However, they will have homework next Monday and a test next Tuesday over our novel.
- Week of Sept 25
We will continue working on not only identifying character, settings, and plot but also comparing and contrast characters, settings, and events. Our main focus this week will be answer constructed response questions over comparing and contrasting. Please practice with your child at home on Study Island. If you don't have internet access, please let me know. I can print a copy and send it home!
- Week of Sept 18
We will continue to work on comparing and contrasting characters, settings, and events. Students will have a homework on Thursday and a test on Friday over comparing and contrasting.
- Week of Sept 11
We will continue to focus on comparing and contrasting characters, setting, and events. Students will not have homework this week. They need to be review key words for comparing and contrasting. We will test over this skill next Friday.
- Week of Sept 5
This week we will focus on comparing and contrasting characters and settings. Students will not have homework this week. They will have a packet check that will count as a test grade. They will need to have all the questions for chapters 5-10 answered by Friday.
- Week of 28
This week we will continue to focus on story elements and plot. We will have homework on Thursday night that will serve as your child's study guide. We will test character, setting, and plot on Friday.
- Week of Aug 21
This week, students will continue working on story elements and plot. Students will test over plot, spelling, vocabulary, and comprehnsion on Friday.
- Week of Aug 14th
We will continue working on story elements and plot. We will start our new novel Walk Two Moons. Studnets will read chapters 1-4 this week. They will have homework over vocabulary on thursday.
- Week of Aug 8th
This week will be focusing on story elements. We will focus on how a story follows a plot. There will be now homework this week.
