  • This Week in ELA......

We are beginning a new book this week, Orphan Train Rider. The book is about a young boy, Lee Nailing, who in 1926 rode an orphan train to Texas. Between 1854 and 1930, more than 200,000 orphaned or abandoned children were sent west on orphan trains to find new homes. While reading this nonfiction book, we will work on text structures, text features, and summarizing including main idea.
