My classroom is a 3 and 4 year old special needs preschool program. The goal of the classroom is to help my students gain the skills needed to help them be successful as life-long learners. I teach students with various disabilities, and we use many hands-on learning opportunities to ensure success. We also participate in monthly community based instruction trips to provide various learning experiences.
I want my students to learn to LOVE school, grasp the pre-readiness skills needed for Pre-K & Kindergarten, interact with adults and peers, and better prepare them for their future in Polk School District.
We are now using TeachTown in our special needs preschool classroom. TeachTown products are based on rigorous research from staff experts and global studies in the field of autism. Our flagship product, TeachTown: Basics, uses evidence-based best practices from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech and Language Pathology, and developmental psychology to teach a wide range of meaningful skills. As research on social development demonstrates that it is essential to capture the attention of students before the age of 8 years, TeachTown: Social Skills will captivate and teach behavioral improvement in the classroom through animated video modeling to children with autism.
