View Events/Assignments for 

Every morning we begin our day with Calendar Math. In this 20 minute period, we review the days of the week, months of the year, patterns, weather graphs, skip counting, numbers, how many tens and ones are in a teen number, different money combinations, ten frames & how many days we have been in school. This is a great way to include so much in one lesson.

Next, we complete a word problem of the day and begin a mini-lesson covering the current standard. The students and I then complete a math review page together.

Math is a lot of hands on learning! The students work with a lot of manipulatives. What may look like playing with little teddy bears is actually teaching a child to use one-to-one correspondence while counting objects!
